Under SPRYE's umbrella of services, remaining independent as you age in a familiar community and neighborhood is a very real option.
Members have access to a network of pre-screened, reliable service providers. They are able to participate in regularly scheduled cultural, educational, and social activities. With over 100 members and growing, SPRYE plays a vital role in helping older adults keep connected to their community.
SPRYE joins a nationwide aging in place (AIP) movement. More than 120 groups are already operating and 100 more are in formation.
Generations United and MetLife Foundation recognized the City of Rye as a national finalist of the 2014 Best Intergenerational Communities Awards. There were four winners and two finalists.The Rye Youth Council collaborated with SPRYE in applying for this award. An intergenerational community is not just one where multiple generations reside. It is one where individuals of all ages are an integral and valued part of the setting.
