Under SPRYE's umbrella of services, remaining independent as you age in a familiar community and neighborhood is a very real option.
Members have access to a network of pre-screened, reliable service providers. They are able to participate in regularly scheduled cultural, educational, and social activities. With over 100 members and growing, SPRYE plays a vital role in helping older adults keep connected to their community.
SPRYE joins a nationwide aging in place (AIP) movement. More than 140 groups are already operating and 120 more are in formation.
New York State Senator George Latimer is introducing a bill in the Senate that will create a Task Force to study and recommend policies on aging-related services and policies inclusive of transportation, nutrition, infrastructure, zoning changes to facilitate home care, tax incentives, private insurance, increased elder abuse and fraud protection, and improved medical care, among others that the task force may choose. Please read the attached information summarizing the bill and show your support by signing the petition. Click here for pdf of bill summary. Click here for petition.
